Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kai Sundmacher has been Executive Director at the Max Planck Institute since 01.01.2023
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kai Sundmacher, speaker of the CDS and the research cluster "SmartProSys", holds the office of Executive Director at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems Magdeburg for 2023 and 2024. Every two years, a new Executive Director is appointed from the College of Directors, which consists of four Scientific Members of the Max Planck Society.
Since 1998, Kai Sundmacher has headed the Process Engineering Department at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems Magdeburg, and in 1999 he was appointed to the Chair of Systems Process Engineering at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. Since 2001, he has also been Director as well as Scientific Member at the Max Planck Institute.
