94th Annual Meeting of the International Association of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM)
This year's annual conference of the Society for Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM) will be hosted by Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.
When? March 18, 2024, 8:00 a.m. to March 22, 2024, 2:30 p.m.
Where? Main campus of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg
CDS members Prof. Dr. Peter Benner, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems Magdeburg, and Prof. Dr. Thomas Richter, Head of the Numerical Mathematics in Applications Group at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, are chairpersons of the event. The plenary lectures on the disciplines represented at GAMM will be supplemented by mini-symposia and parallel sections with several hundred presentations. In cooperation with the German Society for Aeronautics and Astronautics (DGLR), the 66th Ludwig-Prandtl Memorial Lecture will be held as part of the event.
The disciplines of mathematical modeling, simulation, and optimization represented by GAMM will play an important role in the "SmartProSys" Cluster of Excellence, as digital twins of processes based on a green carbon cycle are also highly relevant to Magdeburg's "SmartProSys" application, which has been invited to submit a full proposal as part of the Excellence Strategy. It is therefore a good opportunity for Magdeburg and Otto von Guericke University to present itself as an important location for computer-driven engineering and natural sciences as well as applied mathematics.
More than 1.000 mathematicians, engineers and scientists from Germany, Europe, and the rest of the world will take part in the event.
