Dr. Julian Heinrich receives the Klaus-Erich-Pollmann research award

02.02.2022 -

Julian Heinrich, research associate at the Chair of Inorganic Chemistry, together with the research group of CDS member Prof. Dr. Nora Kulak, has succeeded in developing a new approach for the therapy of cancer cells. The basis for this is the synthesis of artificial metal complexes, which are able to split DNA and also show a cell toxicity.

The aim of this scientific research is that the produced metal complexes split the DNA of the tumour cells and damage them. The result of the damage would be the cell death of the tumour cell.
