Researchers from the University of Magdeburg elected to the DFG Review Board

The CDS Members Dr.-Ing. Tanja Vidakovic-Koch and Prof. Dr. Peter Benner, along with six other researchers of the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg, have been elected to the review board of the Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) (German Research Foundation).

Frontiers Honour: Prof. Dr. Lavrik Editor of the Year 2023

CDS member Prof. Dr. habil. rer. nat. Inna Lavrik, Professor of Translational Inflammation Research at the Faculty of Medicine at Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg, has been honoured with the Editorial Board Award of the journal Frontiers in Cell Death and Survival.

New members in the CDS

By decision of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Julian Thiele was admitted to the CDS as a new member and Dr.-Ing. Stefanie Duvigneau was admitted to the CDS as a new junior member.

Julian ThieleProf. Dr. Julian Thiele headed a junior research group of the Leibniz Research Cluster for Next Generation Cell-Free Biotechnology at the Leibniz Institute of Polymer research in Dresden. In Dresden Thiele was involved in setting up the Leipzig Application Laboratory "Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing". The chemist was appointed to the Chair of Organic Chemistry at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg in August 2022.

Stefanie DuvigneauDr.-Ing. Stefanie Duvigneau has been working at the Institute of Automation Technology (IFAT) at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg since 2016 and is leading the working group "Synthesis of Sustainable Biotechnological Processes" since 2023. In 2023, she was awarded the Klaus Erich Polliman Prize, endowed with 5,000 euros, at the academic ceremony of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. This honoured her outstanding achievements in the field of theoretical and experimental analysis of biopolymer production in microorganisms.
