CDS member Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kai Sundmacher appointed Fellow of the Max Planck School Matter to Life
The three new Max Planck Schools (Cognition, Photonics, Matter to Life), which were established in 2018, are cross-locational and cross-organisational networks for doctoral training in Germany and are aimed at exceptionally talented young researchers worldwide. Those who are selected can devote their doctoral theses to new, forward-looking fields of interdisciplinary research questions in basic and applied research. As a Fellow, Prof. Sundmacher will ensure outstanding supervision of the participants and support them in their scientific and personal development. Furthermore, Prof. Sundmacher will support the Max Planck School by contributing research topics and teaching achievements in the field of design methods of synthetic biosystems. As a Fellow, he will also actively participate in the selection process of the applicants.
