How to use AI for food and pharmaceutical production

CDS member Prof. Dr. Evangelos Tsotsas from the Institute of Chemical Engineering hosts Humboldt Fellow Dr. Narjes Malekjani from Iran.

Thanks to the Alexander-von-Humboldt-Fellowship, scientists from all over the world can come to the Otto-von-Guericke-University Mageburg. Dr. Malekjani received her PhD from Tehran University and later worked as a university professor at Guilan University. She decided to join the Chair of Thermal Process Engineering at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and Prof. Dr. Tsotsas to do research in her favorite field. 
She was supported by the Humboldt-Foundation, for example in obtaining the visa. Dr. Malekjani is doing research on the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in modeling the spray drying process. Spray drying is the most commonly used method in the production of food powders, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.
Receiving an Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship is considered a great honor for both grantee and host.
